Not sure what to say?

Dick was a fixture and longtime researcher in the Library of the Western Reserve Historical Society. He will be missed!

Enjoyed work with Richard Manuel at Orange Middle School as a co-teacher. He gave a wonderful gift to many of his students-desire to learn.

As my 7th grade English and history teacher, Mr. Manuel had a profound impact on my life. His high expectations of his students were born of a genuine desire to have each one of us reach our full potential. He challenged me to think critically and also beyond my then adolescent plans. Undoubtedly, he played a role in my matriculation to Harvard and then to Harvard Law School. Thanks for your contributions to your many students and to the Cleveland community.

Mr Manuel, You only taught for 14 years??? It seemed that you were always at Orange. You were a wonderful teacher although your subject (math) was brutal but I think it helped that you went to US with my father. I always felt special with you! Thank you so much for helping an awkward preteen!

Dick was a classy Yalie, a great supporter of music & the arts in Cleveland. He will be sorely missed.

Dick was a great friend while serving on the Board of Directors for the Cleveland International Piano Competition. We often laughed about our duo piano performance of Malaguena at a fund raiser, when we both began playing the same part despite several rehearsals! Dick knew much about many subjects, and shared his enthusiasm for lifelong learning with anyone who would listen. My sincere condolences to your family on his passing.
