Not sure what to say?

I remember Richard from the downtown Neiman-Marcus store. My mother, Tania Kap, worked upstairs as one of the few women executives and was reponsible for the budget, vendors, and advertisment for their annual fortnight. That was an amazing time. I remember my mom and Richard having fantastic conversations about art, culture, and history. Neiman-Marcus and the Marcus family were an amazing and unique breed in Dallas and Richard held on and continued his family's vision for a long time. ...

Our Jarrell family is grateful Susan and Richard made Austin their home these last years. Their presence has enhanced the Austin landscape, through participation in expanding and enhancing the Contemporary, something they have done for many communities in their years together. We will remember Richard´s kindness, genteel courtesy, wisdom and humor-qualities he brought to all those he interacted with. With gratitude, and celebration we think of him and family.

What a tremendous loss and definitely the end of an amazing era. My father, O'Neil Ford, was a long-time friend of Stanley and Eddie Marcus. What wonderful memories I have of the times we all spent together and what a treat it always was to shop at the "original" Neiman's in downtown Dallas. We are all blessed to have had those amazing, glamorous and happy times! My thoughts and prayers are with you. Wandita Ford Turner, San Antonio, Texas

What a remarkable man. He will be great,y missed. Having worked with Susan and him at Learning About Learning and reconnected in New York when they found one another again, I feel privileged to have been in Richard´s extraordinary universe. He was truly, the Renaissance Man while being generous, kind, loving, intelligent and embracing of life! To Susan, my year´s long friend, my heart hurts for your loss and my blessings to all his larger family for embracing his energy in your hearts. We...
