Not sure what to say?

Rick and I were classmates growing up in Pittsfield. Although I had only seen him a couple of times at PHS reunions over the years, I will always remember his infectious spirit and his love of a good time. My sincere sympathies to the Mariani family and the good friends Rick leaves behind.

Rick: You will definitely be missed, and much of the energy in the world goes with you. Thank you for your penchant for not just being in the world, but molding it to be better. God Bless and keep you. You were a true friend in my time of need.

Dear Mariani family and friends, I was so very saddened to hear the heart-breaking news about Rick. He brought joy and smiles to everyone he touched. His legacy is that... wonderful memories that continue to make us smile and laugh. I think I can hear him up in heaven right now singing 'Born in the USA'. This world will not be the same without Rick.

I was the Operations Coordinator for the New Jersey Performing Arts Center during realignment of Rt. 21 and the construction of the Light Rail. I had the honor of meeting and speaking to Rick only a few times, but knew that he was a special guy and great to work with. My sincerest condolences to the Mariani family.

To The Mariani Family -

Please accept my condolences on your loss. I am a NJ TRANSIT employee that has been touched by the Spirit that Rick exuded. It was a priveledge to have worked under his Leadership!

I was so very saddened to learn of Rick's passing. I knew Rick at Syracuse U. He was so much fun and had a way of bringing people together. We lost touch for a while and what a great surprise it was to see him at my 40th birthday party. Even though we lost touch through the years I always remember Rick with such great fondness. I know that you are up there smiling down on all of us, you will be missed by all you have touched.

Rick, you will be missed by many who you touched during your lifetime, God Bless You.

Rick was the spirit at NJ Transit and he made work fun, whatever project he worked on over the years, Rick made it fun to be working on the project with him. He had a way of making everyone he met feel like you were his next best friend. He always showed such enthusiasm over one's ideas and never was negative about the idea. Quite the opposite, Rick would get excited about an idea and then take it out to ten levels beyond and the next thing you know you were shooting for the stars. That's...
