Not sure what to say?

Mr Marquardt was always so very nice to me. Swimming off their private dock, ice skating on the lake and cat sitting are just a few memories that I can recall (and also playing with Cindy the dog). I hadn't seen him in years, but I was always very fond of him and Mrs Marquardt. Your family is in my thoughts and prayers.

Who can ever forget Dick Marquardt, from his nonstop jokes to his down-to-earth warmth. I met him by accident at Heathrow, waiting for the same plane, and he never forgot that I came up to him and introduced myself. From that came a personal friendship with Dick and Beth, which I shall ever cherish. My last meeting with them was at the usual raucous lunch in which we actually cleared out the entire room with our endless laughter. What a wonderful guy.

I had the honor of working for Commissioner Marquardt in the 1980s. My first position in a political environment could not have been better. I learned from him, enjoyed being around him and respected the way he protected consumers while not alienating the insurance industry at the same time. To this day I continue to apply things I learned from him. Your family is in my prayers.

I ALWAYS ENJOYED HIS HUMOR. DICK WOULD COME TO OUR INSURANCE ADJUSTER LUNCHEONS AND WHEN I WAS PRESIDENT, I FELT HONORED THAT I GOT TO PLAY GOLF IN HIS FOURSOME. WHAT A GUY. MY HEART GOES OUT TO YOUR FAMILY, BUT YOU DO KNOW HE HAD A GREAT LIFE.

My condolences to your family at this time. Loving thoughts to all of you.

Dick will always be remembered for his sense of humor and warm personality, along with his great service to the State of Washington. He may not be with us physically, but his spirit will be with us always.

To the Marquardt Family, I am so sorry for your loss. I will never forget how you all welcomed me into your home and family. He was an amazing man. -- Karyn (Webb) Taylor

My sympathy to your family in your loss. He was a good friend of my fathers, Bob Lotzenhiser. I remember meeting him at our home in Olympia. May your hearts be filled with many wonderful memories. JoAnn Lotzenhiser Jones

Hi Leslie, sorry for your loss, was not fortunate to have met your Dad, but from what you told me and your Mom, he sounds like a great person, and now he's at Peace. He's now hanging out with the Main Man in Heaven..
