Not sure what to say?

We used to play kickball almost every day as kids growing up in Riverdale. I will never forget the day rick was up to bat and he kicked the ball so hard that as the pitcher, i took a direct face shot ! I was blinded temporally, got pissed off at him and he still made a homerun. In that same game; My brother Joey tried to steal home plate and I threw the ball so hard that he tried to jump up to miss the ball and the ball hit his bottom foot, and he flipped up and came down and broke his...

I came to know Rick through his friendship with Mike Badasci and his time volunteering at Sequoia Middle School. Rick was always one to put a smile on any face. Just a genuine good man who obviously loved his family and friends. We all blessed to have known Rick.

RIP Rick.It was a pleasure to work with you at Anderson Clayton.

Our family was saddened by the news of Rick's passing. Rick always had a smile and a cheerful hello when we would see him at volleyball. He will be missed. Prayers to the Mathias family for God's peace, comfort, and strength at this difficult time.

The passage may be blurry, but the truth guides us all

I am very saddened by this news which I just heard ....only minutes ago. Rick (moose) as we Riverdale kids called him was a life friend who walked through this valley with me; we grew up as family as young children doing everything together. He was a mentor, a special friend and he will be missed. I know nothing of his illness, had no news about anything being wrong with him so this comes as a great shock and surprise to me. May the lord keep his soul safe through this transition until we...

I am saddened by the news of Rick's passing. Rick was a true gentleman with a kind heart and gentle soul. No matter the struggle, Rick always had positive words and was your #1 cheerleader. His passing leaves a void in my heart and we will all miss you Rick!

Rick and I became friends on his first visit to Louisiana about twenty years ago. He was a good friend to have and I feel honored to have known him. Big Rick will be missed and remembered by all who knew him

It was a great pleasure to work with Rick for the past 4 years. He was such an amazing person with such a positive outlook on life. Everyday he would walk upstairs to his office and I would greet him with a "hey rick, how are you?" and everyday I received the same response, "well jordan, everyday is a GOOD DAY!" He will always be remembered and missed by all at Agri-Valley.

Incredible sadness washes over all of us who knew him and the family. My prayers and thoughts are with the family
