Not sure what to say?

I Only just found out that Richard has died, I was kid calling in after school to Dads (Phil Broadbents) workshop on the way home, always delighted to see Richard and Seng, so lovely. I remember going to Richards shop in Remuera. Our family passes on our love and deepest respect. Seng if you like Phil would love a natter. All our love, the Broadbent family

To Dearest Seng my deepest sympathy for you loss, you are in my thoughts. To Richard you where the perfect host with the help of Loyal Seng, anyone who had the pleasure of knowning you was blessed your beautiful laughing eyes and smile will be missed, you where always the best company at any function you attended. Ana (Gwiazdzinska) and Basil (dec) White Melbourne

Dear Seng, Our love and condolences go out to you for the loss of Richard. He was a fun, and talented cousin to have. I remember his art as a kid which inspired me esp. his painting for Edgar. When he came around home he was always offered the piano to play. There was much laughter and frivolity. He will be well remembered. regards Fraser & Gill

Richard ! Memories, long past, of adventure and laughter. To Seng, his partner and incredible helpmate, all my sympathy and all our (Brodie) admiration ! Rest in peace Richard. The world is more dull without you. Cousin Jondy

Dearest Richard, what a wonderful human, so cheeky, fun, generous, artistic and kind. I will miss you, but so thankful to have had such wonderful holidays with you and Seng, `hosts with the most´.... Wonderful memories. To dearest Seng huge hugs, and lots of love, Sarah (cousin)

Richard was the best kid brother anyone could wish to have. Talented, very funny, a great pianist, incredible businessman ... and so loyal to all of his family and friends. And you Seng, gave him many years of such happiness, and incredible help in his failing years. I plan on planting a remembrance tree here, in Massachusetts's, and next to the Dogwood I have already planted in memory of our very special sister, Jill. How I miss you. Love from Liz, and my Dave, who died in 2015

MATTHEWS, Richard James. 25.3.1947 - 13.6.2023 Special friend to Tonia Matthews and Chris Smellie.
