Richard was a dear friend and an example of Christian manhood to me. For many years, my wife and I spent our days off with Richard and Lois traveling the by-ways of New England. As a member of our church, he was the go to "Mr. Fixit." He introduced me to the fire service, where I was a chaplain for more than two decades.
