Burkhart Funeral Home - Crawfordsville Obituary

Richard McCloud, of Linnsburg, passed away Sunday afternoon at his home. He was 76.

Mr. McCloud attended school at Barnard and graduated from Crawfordsville High School, Class of 1955. Following graduation, he served in the U.S. Air Force for four years. He worked as a truck driver, first with Arkin truck lines, then Little's Delivery Service and Riggens Delivery Service. He enjoyed wood cutting, fishing, mushroom hunting, and watching western movies. Mostly, he loved spending time with his family and loved family get-togethers.

Born April 30, 1937 in Putnam County, he was the son of Estel McCloud and Ruth Hubble McCloud. He married Ann Davidson on February 14, 1960 in Whitesville and they have been married 53 years.

Survivors include his wife, Ann McCloud, three children, Rick (Lori) McCloud, Julie (Ken) Bullerdick and Jeff (Nancy) McCloud, five grandchildren, Darrin, Derek and Dustin McCloud, Daniel Bullerdick and Stacey (Chris) Waitz, one great grandchild, Dakohda McCloud, brother, Paul (Carole) McCloud and two sisters, Nola (Wally) Lowe, Madeline (Leroy) Axsom.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Family and friends can pay their respects Tuesday from 4 to 8 PM at Burkhart Funeral Home. Services will begin at 11 AM Wednesday at the funeral home, led by Jim Howard. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery South.
