Richard M. McLarnon

MANCHESTER -- Richard M. McLarnon, 62, died July 19, 2008, at a local health care facility, after a period of declining health.

He was born in Qunicy, Mass., Sept. 15, 1945, to Michael and Arlene (Miller) McLarnon.

He graduated from Northeastern University.

He worked in management at Swiss RE National Insurance Specialty for 15 years. He also was a certified life insurance underwriter.

He was a survivor of the attack on the Twin Towers in New York City on Sept. 11, 2001.

He was a member of the CPCU, CLU, Chester Rod and Gun Club, and National Rifle Assn.

He was active with Ancient Order of Hibernians and served on the float committee for the Wild Rover Pub.

He was a communicant of Saint Pius X Church, Manchester.

Family members include his wife, Donna (Carle) McLarnon of Manchester; a daughter, Elaine McLarnon of San Diego, Calif.; a son, Richard McLarnon of Blackhorse, N.J.; six grandchildren; three stepchildren, Brandon Rivers, Kristine Carle, and Loretta Brady, all of Manchester; three sisters, Mrs. Arthur (Paula) Kelley of Braintree, Mass., Judy Mills of Waymouth, Mass. and Mrs. James (Alice) Fitzpatrick, of Las Vegas, Nev.; two brothers, Harry McLarnon of Annandale, Va., and James McLarnon of Pembroke, Mass.; and several nieces and nephews.

SERVICES: A memorial reception will be held Monday from 11 a.m. to noon at Connor-Healy Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 537 Union Street, corner of Concord Street, Manchester. A funeral service will follow in the funeral home at noon.
