I remember Dick as "one of the good guys, never a bad word for anybody". New him well in college, (Fraternity brother) and saw him on occasion afterwards. A shame to have Dick not with us, but a guy who puts a smile on my face when I think of him. My best to his loved ones.

I have known Dick since we swam together in Summer League in Florissant and we grew up together in the Shoe Business. Dick was a great guy with a lot of heart and desire. We all will miss a good freind.

My deepest sympathy to the Meckfessel family. I met Dick in high school. He was so much fun and always had that huge grin on his face, which I have always remembered. We will miss him at future McCluer '68 reunions. May your happy memories of Dick carry you through this difficult time.

To the entire family, know that the McCluer Class of '68 is very sorry for your loss. Dick was a good friend to many and always easy to spot on campus, not only because of his height but because of the giant grin always on his face.

Kerry: I met Dick way back in Jr High, probably because our last names started with the same letter & we were always seated alphabetically. We quickly became good friends. I remember in class one day when I went to punch him in the leg & hit his inhaler. I'd never heard of them, about broke my hand, Dick had no sympathy for my pain, he was too busy laughing. We remained good friends all through high school but like most, lost touch afterwards. I got to visit with him a bit at the '03...

What a sad day to hear about Dick's death. I have known him since Junior High and what a wonderful man. I think everyone that I know liked him. Whenever I saw him or talked to him, he was always so cheerful.
I am sorry for your loss, I know that all of you will miss him terribly.

I am very sad to know that we will not see Dick's smiling face at our next reunion. The 1968 Class of McCluer High School has lost one it's favorite Comets.
May your memories comfort you at this time of sorrow.
