Melby, Richard L. "Dick" age 85, of Edina. June 16, 1921- June 13, 2007. Survived by his wife of 56 years, Fern; daughters, Patty (Todd) Smith & Barb (Paul) Knudsen; grand - sons, Ryan (Abby) & Matthew Smith; great- grandson, Beau Smith; extended family & friends. Insurance salesman for New York Life for over 50 years. 32nd degree Mason and a Shriner at Zuhrah Temple 101 for over 50 years. Funeral service Sat., June 16, 10:30 AM at Mt. Olivet Lutheran Church, 50th & Knox, Mpls. Private interment, Lakewood Mausoleum. Memorials preferred to the Shriner's Crippled Children's Fund. Washburn-McReavy Edina Chapel 952-920-3996

final peace for you, uncle Dick...... i still wish you could have found the time in your life to say goodbye to your brother, John, before he passed away maybe now you can tell him why....... peace to Fern, Patti, and Barb, and best wishes for a healthful healing from your loss

I was saddened to hear of Dick's passing. Although it's been many years since I've seen any of you, I can still recall great times when the families could get together. He'll be in our hearts and we wish you all well.
