Grew up with Rich in Chester at the YMCA and the sandlots of the area. He did care about all sports, especially Young players in all sports. He gave of Himself at all times to promote sports in Delaware Cty. God bless Him and His Family, May He Rest in the peace of the Lord of us all.

My deepest sympathy to the Merchant Family for the loss of your loved one, Richard, "Merch", and pray God gives you comfort, peace and strength.

I was fortunate enough to be coached by Merch. He was truly a teacher of the game and a mentor on how to be the very best. He will be missed and never forgotten.

On behalf of the St. James High School Alumni Association, I extend our deepest sympathies on your loss. Rich was a great asset to St. James High School and its athletic programs. He was a valued contributor to the basketball and baseball programs.

RIP Cousin Richie
