Not sure what to say?

Sadly, just learned of my former ELHS classmate. Condolences to Richard´s family and friends.

I just learned of Dick's passing-happy memories of my classmate who was such a fun loving guy who threw a fantastic graduation party. My condolences to his family. Linda ( Wade) Wallace

I´ve thought of you often over the years. You and Barbara were special friends. You will be remembered fondly. Ann ( Stockwell) Stapleton

Dick was one of my oldest friends, we shared a love of cars and many memories of our high school years and mutual friends. I will miss him.

I want to offer my condolences to the Mertz family. I just found out and was shocked to learn about Richard's passing. I worked with Richard for almost 19 years at Footprints. He was a true friend and I always loved talking and chatting with him at work. Even after I left Footprints I use to get together with him and some others we worked with. Going to truly miss getting together with him at those dinners. He will be greatly missed. ...

My deepest condolences to Scott, Danny and Caitlin. Your father was not only my co-worker at both Brooslins and Foot Prints, he was my friend. We had many good times together. I will miss him greatly.

My condolences to Richard's family and friends at his passing. I was a classmate with him in 65, also one of many at that party. We reconnected many yrs. later as Richard and Eileen we're on my meals on wheels route for a time. We talked a bit about our lives when I would visit and it was nice to see him again. Another E.L. Spartan has passed.

I just learned of Richard's passing. My thoughts, prayers and deepest condolences go out to all of his beautiful familiy and friends. I am so very sorry. He will be missed and remembered as a very, very good man. I honestly think that he's in heaven. Jack Evans East Longmeadow.

My sincere condolences to the entire Mertz family. I had the pleasure of working with Richard for over 20 years. We shared a spirited coworker and post retirement relationship. Richard usually appeared to have a tough, outer shell, but was very soft and compassionate on the inside. He will be missed. Bruce Beauchamp
