Richard Moratto

Hearing of Br. Richard's departure from this life has brought back many memories of his early years in Justin while we, Sisters of Mercy, were in our early days still in St. Apollinaris. Brs Richard's & Bede were so supportive of us. May Br. Richard be enfolded in God's eternal love, peace and joy after a life of dedication in the footsteps of St. Jean Baptist de la Salle in a life of prayer and commitment to education. Sympathy to Br. I was in Brother Richard's adult religious education class in the mid-80's as I was converting to Catholicism. He was an engaging and warm-hearted leader. During one conversation, I expressed how annoying it was to cry over the slightest of things--both happy and sad. Brother Richard changed my perspective forever by telling me that I had "the gift of tears." I have kept that phrase in my heart ever since. May he rest in eternal peace.
