I would like to offer my deepest sympathy and condolences to the family and friends of Dr. Richard Morrison.
I had the privilege and honor to meet Dr. Morrison during the summer of 1967 while a student at Alabama A&M.
I later transferred and graduated from his beloved Tuskegee Institute.
We pray and hope that his spirit and memory lives eternally.

As current AAMU staff employees, we will miss him, and wish that he were still the President - we need his strong leadership and ethics right now.
You are - and will be - missed by all of us, sir. Your generation inspired greatness, and you were one of many shining stars leading us to the future. You will never be forgotten, and you leave a rich and enduring legacy for us to aspire to.
Rest now, Dr. Morrison, for you have earned it.

As a man of great stature and valor, I shall always remember him not only as a student and employee under his strong presidency and leadership to the administration, faculty, staff, and students of AAMU, but he was also a skilled craftsman of humor, always inducing laughter and amusement whenever in his company. He had a giving heart of bringing beautiful fresh roses and vegetables from his garden as well as boxes of chocolates on many special occasions while in the Dawson Building as...

Sadness I cannot explain for the passing of Dr. Morrison. He was president of A&M during the time I attended to receive my B.S. and M.Ed degrees. He did much to move A&M forward. He shall never be forgotten for his hard work and dedication to Alabama A&M University. For we all will miss him.
