I knew Richard during much of my younger years, as a family friend, and for a brief period of time as a mentor. He provided excellent care to my parents. I realized during my initial surgical training in NYC, that my personality and life style looking into the future would be better served in a medical specialty. With his guidance I pursued neurological training. He was pivotal in guiding me to my future in the West coast. I will always remember Richard for his wisdom, generosity, and quest...

I adored Richard Nachtigall. He was bright passionate gentle consistent kind sharp and so much more. I miss him every day. We spoke about Paris, his favorite city to visit. He would tell me each time about his trips with his wife Laila whom he adored. He was a rock, an anchor in my life and surely was for all who knew him.

Incredible childhood memories of sharing with all of you in Puerto Rico and in the mainland. Always remember him doing handstands. The awesome house you rented in PR. Sorry we disconnected. Best wishes. Armando D. Silva.

He was one of a kind in medicine and kindness. He will be sorely missed. Sending heartfelt condolences.
