Not sure what to say?

There are 2 specific memories I will always have of my cousin Rich, one recent and one from when I was much younger.

When we were younger my parents and sister Julie and brother Mark would visit Aunt Dee and Uncle Fred and family in Reading which as a child seemed so far away from our home in Weymouth. We would hang out with Rich in the basement checking out his music collection and listen to records. I will never forget how Rich would always share his love of music-- The Cars,...

To the entire Nelson family, I wanted to offer my deepest sympathy. I feel fortunate to have known Rich. He fought such a challenging disease for so long, and I never heard him complain. In fact, most times I saw him, he had a smile on his face. He is an inspiration to us all.

On a lighter note, I wanted to share a recent memory of Rich that still makes me laugh. One Sunday afternoon this past May, my family and I finished playing mini-golf at the fun center next to the music...

"Some people come into our lives and quickly go. Some stay for awhile and leave footprints on our hearts. And we are never, ever the same." -Unknown

Richard,
We only knew each other for a short time, but you touched my life, and for that I will always be thankful. I miss you very much.
Hugs,
Francine

I have known Rishard since he was two years old. My family lived two houses away from the Nelsons on Barrows Road when Richard was very little. He was a beautiful blonde child. When Richard was about 5, he and his friend Andy Rouvalis used to love to torment the the old ladies on the stret by ringing their doorbell and running and hiding in the bushes. My father thought this was so amusing that he has movies of it.
I remember when Richard's mother was expecting her fourth...

To all that have visited this site and left an entry, or to those who have just read the entries, I thank from the bottom of my heart for all of your kind words. You always know that your own sibling is specail, I am just glad that there are a lot of other people in the world who felt the same way about my brother Rich. He truly was a fighter until the very end. I believe that he knew it was his time to go. That is hard for all of us to accept because we still want him here. I will never...

As I stood with my father
at Rich's funeral I could'nt help notice all the great pictures of Rich with his family and friends.
For someone to live with this horrible disease for so long, Rich
did a lot of great things.

Some of my best memories of Rich is when we were kids, maybe 11 or 12 playing football in his family's backyard, with his brother Jeff and my two brothers around Christmas Time. Also when Rich and his family
would come over to our house in So....

For Christmas Eve, my sister wanted us to each present our own version of 'Twas the Night Before Christmas. This was mine:

'Twas a few days before Christmas,
And so busy were we,
Sending cards, wrapping gifts
And trimming our tree.

The season was festive
When the phone started ringing.
The message from Boston
Quickly put an end to my singing.

The news was so sad,
Nelly couldn't hold on.
He was losing the...

Do Not Go Gentle inot That Good Night

Do not go gentle into that good night,
Old age should burn and rave at close of day;
Rage, rage afainst the dying of the light.

Thogh wise men at their end know dark is right,
Because their words had roked no lightning they
Do not go gentle into that good night.

Good men, the last wave by, crying how bright
Their frail deeds might have danced in a green bay,
Rage, rage against the dying of...
