Richard Samuel Nemelka1943-2020Salt Lake City, Utah-So why can't you milk a mouse? An odd sort of question for sure but an inquiry that could really only be resolved by one person. And on September 19, 2020 we lost him. Richard "Dick" Nemelka passed peacefully and in the company of family...

Not sure what to say?

Dick and I have been very close friends since our early years at West High School but even more close as a couple of golf buddies and vacation friends in our adult lives. I miss Dick very much and think about him daily. He was taken way to soon but memories never go fade away.

Dick lived with us in New Zealand in 1967/68. He was a great friend. Our second son was named was named after him and we considered him as a member of our family. I have just found out about his passing but look forward to that day when we get to meet with him again. Love to all his family. Dany and George Shaw.

Dick was definitely one of a kind! He was our neighbor and friend on Escalante Drive in Sandy Utah. His boys grew up with our kids. We kept our friendships through seeing him with business affairs for many years. We will miss seeing him at the Huntsman senior games in St. George each year. We will miss his jokes and great smile. He left us too soon! Much love to his family, Gary and JoAnn Miller

I only golfed with my brother once. I hit Five balls into the lake, and he said Larry, why don't you just drive the golf cart. He was the greatest out of nine boys and one girl. He visited us several times in California and always was willing to help and feed me.
I remember his practicing basketball shooting at the iron ring attached to our garage at 611. He ,Mark and dad met mom and I in New York with when I came home from my mission to Germany. He kept asking me why I asked him...

My memories of “Uncle Dick” were from when he was married to my Aunt Barbara, who isn’t really my Aunt. She’s my Dad’s cousin. When I was a young girl, he used to play basketball for the Utah Stars. Our family would go to the Salt Palace and watch his games. I always wore my white buttoned up shirt with the collar with large red and blue stars on it. It was always fun to see Dick make his famous three-point shots and win the game! Dick was always smiling and laughing and telling jokes and...

I have been a friend of Dick's for many years. Even though I haven't seen him for quite some time, I am saddened by his passing. He had an unforgettable, engaging personality: witty, fun, selfless, caring, smart, industrious, and just an all around nice guy. I wish his family peace and comfort to help them during this difficult time.

Dick was everything that his family has said about him. His humor was always welcome and when you were around him you could count on hearing different joked and also some old ones. He was a great athlete, as well as an attorney for Wanda, me and our daughter Brenda. After his retirement he did a lot of pro bono work on our daughter's problems that resulted from a bad marriage. But what I will always cherish the most, he was a true friend to me and to Wanda. I have so many good memories of...

Some extremely precious photos of our family with Dick when he played for my late Dads Traffic Dept basketball while he was in NZ doing his Mission. And then later he cane back with Steve Kramer, Jenny Gardner, Bob Bedrll and others to play games against other national teams. Such a special and wonderful time. Love you so much dearest friend. RIP
