Judy and Family,

I never met any of you but I have known Ric through Fast Swimming for the past four years. He was truly a great man that cared deeply for others. I just found out today and wish I had known earlier. We had many great conversations and he provided excellent advice. Today my heart is broken but I know he is at peace and I will miss him dearly. I wish you all well and bid you Godspeed. Blessing to you!

I am so sorry to hear of Ric's passing. Goad always takes the good one's too soon. We only met him, last month, for my daughter's swim lessons. And I was saddened and shocked to see he passed, we were planning on continuing in the Spring and he sent me a nice message pleased to hear, she would continue and he would see us then. I just read his obituary and impressed to see he accomplished so much. Prayers for your family.

Judy, Sara, Jennifer, Julie and family and friends,
It was been my privilege to have a close friendship with Ric for 41 years. His contribution to society was more than anyone else I have known in my life's travels. With his great personality and smile, he could have attained great success in business...he was never about money.....but always about service to others. It was my privilege to call him "friend". The memorial service, scripture, and songs were well selected....I commend the family on their choices.

Judy and Family,
Ric coached me when I was swimming masters. He always begged me to come swim at the meets. I told him " I only swim so I can eat cookies and such". He would laugh. He would say it day in and day out. Always with a smile and we would laugh. He was an amazing coach, and a compassionate man. One thing I remember about him, was him sitting in his truck at FAST reading his bible. He was a man that walked he talk. He always looked out for those who were hurting, or in physical pain etc. He loved watching his grandchildren play basketball at the Benbrook YMCA. Ric' life cannot be summed up in words and I pray that in the days, weeks, months and years that lie ahead, you all can find peace in all the lives he touched. That you can see God's gift in the memories you have of him. Please know that our family have been and will continue to pray for Ric and his meeting our Lord, as well as for the loss will experience. Look to God for strength when days are hard, look to friends for company when days are lonely. With much love and continual blessings.. Ric was the "Because We Care" Specialist at AHHS when I was the "BWC" Specialist at Paschal High School. He was an outstanding counselor who helped so many high school kids through very tough times. He assisted me at several Natural Helpers Retreats. Those are such fond memories. Ric's tenacity and courage were always evident. I was always delighted to see him and be welcomed with a broad smile and welcoming hug. I miss you, yet I know that you, your sweet daughter, and Sarah Brooke are all telling tales and laughing about the good memories during that time. What a fine man!

October 25, 2012

Life without Ric is going to be very hard for the Muehlstein family. We all loved and respected him very much. We shared so many wonderful memories of family gatherings and times spent with the precious grandchildren that we "shared". Ric was always the "turkey carver" at Thanksgiving at the ranch. I know his spirit will be with us and he will probably be laughing at whomeever tries to do the turkey work as well as he did. Our deepest sympathy to Judy, the children and the granddchildren on the loss of this wonderful man. To our daughter-in-law Julie, please know that you are in our prayers and that we love you very much. How proud he was of all his "girls". The earth is very sad right now because Ric is not here with us. However, Heaven is a joyful place because one of God's best creations has returned "home". Ric may already be teaching little angels to swim! Ric will be missed by many people young and old. How very fortunate the Muehlsteins are to have been able to call Ric Nesbit "friend".

Judy, You don't know me - I was one of those myriad children that your husband coached. I think he was my coach from around age 9 to 14, a foundational period in a boy's life. Rick was an amazingly positive force for us. Straightforward, empassioned, determined, and a non-sentimental mentor. He translated his own passion for swimming to all of us kids, leaving a lasting mark.

I am deeply saddened by the loss of Mr.Nesbit. He counciled me at Heights for my battle with anorexia. He stood by me every week making sure I made progress and I eventually overcame my battle. Although I thanked him endlessly during my years at Heights I still don't think I thanked him enough. He was a wonderful man of many talents and accomplishments only one of them was saving me from myself. My deepest sympathy for his family, friends, and co-workers and especially Sara whom I knew only in passing and with shared friends . He will be missed.
