Richard was born on February 24, 1931 and passed away on Tuesday, June 14, 2016. Richard was a resident of Wakefield, Rhode Island at the time of his passing. He attended SLU receiving his BA cum laude in 1950. He was married to Marjorie. There will be a service at the New Fernwood Cemetery in Kingston RI on Monday June 20th at 2pm followed by a gathering of family and friends at Richard's home in Kingston. In lieu of flowers it is Richard's wish that donations be made in his name to Natural Resources Defense Council NRDC and Doctors Without Borders.

As a friend of Mia Neuse, I met Richard for the first time over 20 years ago at the Neuse family home in Rhode Island. I recall the beautiful garden that he enjoyed working in, his keen dry wit and his extensive knowledge on a wide variety of topics. I recall conversing about his profession, and the game of life.
