Sending love and peace to your family.

Uncle Dick,

I'm going to miss you so much.I regret deeply that we did not visit you on the last trip there. You were the most giving tightwad that I know. Every time I was in town first thing that you offered was a place for me to lay my head. I am so glad that we were able to spend time together for the father's day bbq. I had many good laughs. Glad to have our little talks. I am going to truly miss you.

To the Otterson Family,

On behalf of the Charleston Base SUBVETS and Swamp Fox Chapter SUBVETS WWII, I offer you our sincere condolences on Dick's passing. We grieve with you on the loss of your loved one and all SUBVETS and their families have your family in our thoughts and prayers. There is no expiration date on the back of our dolphins and Dick will always be remembered as a Brother of the Phin and a great Patriot.

We worked side by side in the van @ PVP for the last few years. He was a great story teller and a friend I will miss.

Uncle Dick, you were the one that truly welcomed me into the family. You always had a big smile and something funny to share with me, and I thank you so very much for that. If I had one thing that intrigued me the most were your fabulous bushy eyebrows--so expressive with each and every comment you made. Rest well and know that we shall meet again! Love Marte Flechsig

On behalf of the United States Submarine Veterans (USSVI), I offer our sincere condolences on Richard's passing. You and your loved ones are in our thoughts and prayers. We are forever grateful for Richard's service to our country in the U.S. Submarine Service. To our Brother of the Phin we say, Sailor, rest your oar. We have the watch. May you rest in peace and may God bless your loved ones who remain. Thank you for your service to our country."
Now may the Lord of peace Himself give you...
