Not sure what to say?

Grandpa (or as I always called you, "Grampa"):

I'll miss your laugh. When I was growing up, your booming laughter filled the house on Amsden Street.

I'll miss you screaming "SLOW DOWN, WILL YA?!" as we ran through the house. I'll miss watching you surrounded by people as you told one of your stories, pausing at the right moments to let everyone around you crack up. By the end of it you'd crack up too.

I'll miss coming home to find you people-watching on the front porch,...

Ritchie, How grateful I am that you were part of our lives for so many years. There is now a great void in our family. You will be sorely missed.

Aunt Margaret and Family,

I truly am sorry for your loss, and hope you are doing well during this very trying time. Always know that, though you are currently feeling the pain of losing Uncle Ritchie, that you have the love and support of your family standing behind you.

All my best,

-Ben

My heartfelt condolences to the family of Richard, he was a kind and gentle soul with a fantastic sense of humor, he will be greatly missed! He loved his family very much! May the memories that you have give you strength during this difficult time. He is at peace now and will be watching you and guiding you until you meet again. God Bless!

I dont think there is any greater testament to a person's life than the depth of love that his family or friends feel for him. And based on all the love that I have seen surrounding Mr. Pontes and his family over the years, there is no doubt he was an amazing husband, father, grandfather and friend to many. God bless and much love! Tim and Susan O'Sullivan

Dear Grandpa,

I feel so blessed to have had you in my life for 25 years. The past few days I have been thinking so much about all that you've done for your family and grandchildren - in particular, how much you deeply cared for each and every person you loved.

From picking me up every day from Hardy school, to the example you and Nana have shown all the generations after you, of how in love two people can be for a whole lifetime.

My heart is broken, and I...

Ritchie, I will cherish always the many great times and laughs we shared. You were a truly great brother-in-law and will always be missed.
Love, Kathleen (your favorite)

Ritchie as I knew him growing up on hurley street in Cambridge is a 2nd cousin on my late fathers side. I am a few years younger than Ritch but went to many Boston Olympic hockey games with him back in the 1950s. He was a good man. May God have mercy on his soul.

Ritchie, It was an honor to be your best man at your wedding to Margaret and a privilege and pleasure to have had you for a brother-in-law for so many years. You will be missed and never forgotten.
