Richard L. Prescott, Jr., a Stamford, CT resident for the last 19 years, passed away on Wednesday, November 10, 2004 at Stamford Hospital, Stamford. Born September 6, 1951 in Montclair, NJ, he was the son of the late Richard Lewis and Patricia (Boorse) Prescott. He was 53.
Mr. Prescott attended Fairleigh Dickinson University. He was self-employed as a boat builder, master carpenter and model maker. Prior to being self-employed, he worked at Yacht Haven Marina in Stamford and Rex Marina in Norwalk and several other local marinas. He was a member of the Christmas Cove Improvement Association in Christmas Cove, ME and the Historical Society in South Bristol, ME. He has also restored many antique wooden boats and has built several boats along the North East coast. He bought and restored the historic Union Hall in South Bristol where the family has summered for the last 10 years.
He is survived by his wife Julie A. Prescott of Stamford; one step-daughter, Rebecca Parker of Washington, DC and two children, Ryan and Meagan Prescott both of Stamford. He is also survived by one sister, Linda Prescott of Gorham, ME. He is predeceased by two brothers, Paul Charles and Stephen Edward Prescott.
A Memorial Service will be held at the Noroton Presbyterian Church, 2011 Post Road, Darien on Saturday, November 13, 2004 at 10:30 AM. A private family interment will be held at a later date.
