SULLIVAN - Richard Allen Probus, Jr., 23, of Sullivan passed away 12:13 p.m. Wednesday April 27, 2005 in his home. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday at McMullin-Young Funeral Home, Sullivan. Pastor Don Lusk will be officiating. Visitation will be 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Greenhill Cemetery, Sullivan. Family suggests casual attire. Memorials: Donor's Choice. Richard was born September 20, 1981 in Decatur the son of Richard Allen Sr. and Linda Janette (Burgess) Probus. He was a member of the Southern Baptist Church, Sullivan. He was part of the Krazy Krackers Riders. Richard graduated from Sullivan High School in 1999. During his school years he participated in baseball, soccer, track, football and basketball. Richard built his first demo car with help from his friends when he was seventeen. He placed first, with his second demo car at the 2000 Coles County Fair in Charleston. Richard loved dirt track racing, demolition derby's, NASCAR, go karts, his two dogs, Molly and Harley, and riding motorcycles, and hanging out with his friends. He loved his family and will be sadly missed. And to the Krazey Krackers ride on. Richard is survived by his parents, Richard Allen Sr. and Linda Janette Probus; maternal grandparents, Cecil and Darlene Burgess of Sullivan and paternal grandmother, Lynn Probus of Sullivan.
