Dear Family, I am sorry for your loss. Rick was a kind, decent man, with a great sense of humor. I worked with him at the VA. I am also the friend that called your parents in Philadelphia after he fell down the subway stairs in Harvard Square. He did not want to alarm your family. I lived in Cambridge and was nearby, so I could see him at the hospital. He was especially kind to my mother when she would visit. I am now living near Covenant College and happen to know his college friend...
