Not sure what to say?

Mr Rabbitt was Mr. Warrior Spirit. Part of the fun with McHenry High sports was reading his column in the McHenry Plaindealer. His spirit will live on in the hearts and minds of many old Warriors!

I am very sorry to hear about the passing of Coach Rabbitt. What a great teacher and coach, and all-around nice guy! I had the pleasure of knowing him both at McHenry Community High School and outside of school. As a freshman, I had a lot of fun playing on the baseball team under Coach Rabbitt. I was friends with his son, Mike, and I remember Coach Rabbitt driving Mike and me to the Woodstock library to allow us to do research for a class paper. He was always a gentleman, and what a sense of...

He will be dearly missed! Always loved seeing his smiling face at Dreyer- he brightened our days.

he was such a great teacher. I have always remembered him with a smile and great fondness. Peace to him and his family.

Sorry to hear of Mr. Rabbitt's passing! He was one of my best teacher's at McHenry High School. May his Memory be Eternal! Father Nicholas Dilendorf, Chicago. www.uocofusa.org

He lived up the street from us on Ponca. He was a well liked te
acher at high school. RIP

We lived on Ponca just down the street from "The Coach" so I had the privilege of knowing him as a neighbor and a coach. He was demanding as a coach, but in a way that made you want to do better for him. As a player and a student, you knew who were the coaches and teachers that really cared for you, and Coach Rabbit was one of those "guys". He was someone who would push you, but also one you knew you could talk openly with if you needed some support or just a pep talk. He was straight...

Coach Rabbitt was my first football coach, St Mary's '54 - '58; even though I went on to play college ball and US Army football, coach Rabbitt will always be my Coach.
I'm glad God gave him a nice long life with family, because he earned it. In fact, that's what he taught us; 'How to earn it'.
Memories: That backyard football field at St Marys, Mrs Rabbitt, Martha in stroller, over the back fence; watching us practice football in the heat of August.

I will truly miss Dick. He was fun to be around and was a truly caring person. I had him as a student, and then spent years teaching and working together in the McHenry sports world. RIP to a great man.
