Not sure what to say?

I am grateful to have had the opportunity to get to know Richard as his veterinarian. He was such a wonderful and caring gentleman who always took the time to ask about my family as well as talk about his current artistic work and his family. I feel privaledged to have been gifted two of his original "orange cat" prints that are hanging in my clinic. I also have several other pieces of his work including an "orange dragon" card in which he requested an appointment for his sick dragon! ...

I am grateful to have 2 of Richard's art pieces. I am an encaustic artist so having pieces of his same type of work inspires me. I was honored to be part of the 'repair' team for his art. He did amazing work and has left his mark for others to be inspired as well. A great artist, a great man.

Richard was such a long time colleague and friend at Lehigh University that it is difficult to recognize that he is no longer with us. He was always ready to share transportation to the University's retired faculty luncheons, and he helped keep the informal monthly luncheon group alive and well, as well as to share his work with the wider community. His family's generosity in sharing his remaining art work with all those interested reflected his own open-heartedness. Richard will long be...

Goodbye, Richard. You lived such a good life. Bjorn and I would come to your house for dinner, and then afterwards we'd all watch movie scenes you'd selected from your large collection. "We All Come From the Goddess" is in my living room, "Lijiang Boatman" hangs in the hall, "Flora", which you gave me for my birthday, is in the den. Your lovely little cards, which you made and gave to people on any occasion that needed to be marked, were all saved to be looked at often. So many good things...

I'm so sorry to hear of the passing of this legend of a person, and my deepest condolences to his family. I only had the opportunity to meet and talk with him a few times, though I feel very fortunate to have had those moments. He did extraordinary things with his time on earth, and continues to be an inspiration to so many.

Adrienne,

I'm sorry for the loss of your father. I think I met him at the Hiway with you one time. Sincerely, Carol

So sorry for this loss. Richard lived next door to us on Stonesthrow Road and was a good neighbor to us and our children, who made good use of the rope swing in the backyard. We always enjoyed his company and sense of humor, as well as his talents (we have several of his works). We will remember him fondly.

Richard and Bronzi, March, 2014

Our deepest condolences to Adrienne, Rachel, Cory, and their families. Your Dad really loved you. Richard was a godsend to our Mother Hildegarde after Ralph died. He was the best neighbor anyone could have and a true friend. Stonesthrow Road will never be the same. We miss him but will always cherish his friendship. The Buratti Family (Hidlegarde, Bruce, Bonnie, and Brenda, our spouses and children)

Dick, my late husband Jeff, and I were more than just colleagues at Lehigh. We were good friends, spending time with each other outside of Lehigh, as well. He was a talented artist (I still have two of his pieces) and a good man. My condolences to his family. I am sure the good memories you have over the years will be treasured.
