Not sure what to say?

I knew Rick in college. We used to whistle the Andy Griffith theme song in harmony for our amusement. We would always lose it half way through. Later we worked together in the Brecksville Community Theater. I have this vivid memory of him in the atrium of Guzetta Hall at U of A. He was making puns. Salt shaker on top of pepper shaker = Shaker Heights.... Classic Rick.

Wow. I just tonight learned of Rick's passing. Thoughts and prayers go out to his family. I knew Rick in college and always enjoyed spending time with him, seeing him at parties and events, etc. I only recently reconnected with him via Facebook. The world is a sadder place without him.

I was shocked to learn today of Rick's passing. I remember his good humor, quick wit and kindness at the University of Akron. I want to extend my deepest sympathy to Amy and his family.

Heartbroken to hear of Rick's passing - my deepest condolences to his family. Rick is the kindest man and was one of the most talented and patient coworkers - nothing but the fondest and funniest of memories. ...I can't remember how we ever got on the topic, but I'm thankful to have known Rick as a fellow collector and been able to share our (totally reasonable and not obsessive) ceramic collections :) Miss you already, Rick... got my first McCarty's Pottery piece last weekend.

I heard this news from a mutual friend today. Tho I hadn´t spoken with Rick in several years, tears came instantly. I will always remember him as one of the kindest, funniest and thoughtful people I´ve known. I can´t imagine how those closest to him are coping. My heart goes out to those that loved him.

We are shocked and so sad to hear this news. Rick was a punderful (that groaner is for you, Ricky) person to work with, so funny, smart, kind, and thoughtful. As fellow pun-lovers and creators, we appreciate Rick's quirky, sense of humor and ability to find a joke in even the most serious of situations. I (Megan) will always remember going to Dina's with Rick and Marci, talking about our families and futures, navigating the ups and downs of corporate life over calzones. Rick's wisdom and...

Rick lit up the drama students at BHS. He was so wise, hilarious, and truly kind to everyone. I am very sorry that the world lost Rick. My thoughts are with his family.

I suddenly realized, I have known Rick for over 35 years, through his days at TCFC to the present. One of the kindest, sweetest people I have had the pleasure of knowing my entire career. Nothing but fond memories. He is loved.

Amy and family, Words could never be enough to say how sad we are for your loss. If there is anything at all, we can do, please don't hesitate. I'm certain that Rick was born with a smile on his face, as it was always there. I never saw him without one. Also, I could recognize that voice and the laughter from anywhere. We loved his passion for collecting and I will always treasure our day/road trip to Zanesville for the Pottery Lovers show. We both will miss his wit and wisdom.
