Not sure what to say?

We offer our condolences to the Reynolds family and those who had the privelege of knowing Dick Reynolds. A group of us friends at UConn took a class in English Comedy taught by Professors Reynolds and Pickering where we thoroughly enjoyed learning about Oscar Wilde, PG Wodehouse and watching these two great personalities act out the themes of Lysistrata. The class introduced us to a great man with a love of doing good deeds, but also of laughter. You knew you were in good company when you...

In 1974, I was a Junior at UConn and an English major. I had Dick for a course entitled "Literature and the Law" introducing me to the intersection of great literature and the practice of law. He was a terrific teacher and a great guy and apparently an inspiration as I have now been practicing law 34 years and am a senior partner in Connecticut's largest law firm. My condolences. This is a great loss of a truly exceptional person!

Dick and I shared an office and a love of eighteenth-century literature for many years. I will always remember the kindness and warmth that put me at ease when I was a nervous new teacher. My sympathies to the entire Reynolds family on his loss.

Everyone at the Mansfield Senior Center has missed Dick immensely when he had to move on to Avon. Now we will miss him even more. He taught many literature classes here and always had a full house, and he participated in many of our activities. Everyone loved him, and how could they not. He was an officer and a gentleman. He was a wonderful person to have known and we grieve with you. God bless.
