My parents and I were fortunate to meet great patrons of the arts like Major and Pam Reynolds, as well as Harwood and Louise Cochrane, at exhibition openings and special events at the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts. Major's contributions to the Civil Rights monument educated me about Barbara Johns and his support of organizations like Jamestown and Yorktown informed my knowledge of Virginia history. Dear Pamela, I was so saddened today to read of the passing of your wonderful husband Major, but at least you two had many happy years together and extended his very distinguished family's long and historic legacy with many children and grandchildren.
