Richard Riordan

My wife Jennifer and I send sincere condolences to Barbara, Christine, Steve, and the rest of the Riordan family. Though I was and remain NOT a morning person and usually came home from teaching a class 20 miles away at 11 PM the night before my weekly walks (and talks) with Dick that started at 7 AM, I relished them tremendously, Good physical exercise and just as importantly was Dick´s brand of humor, natural helpfulness, and kind heart that I received every week. He should have charged me...

I remember Dick very fondly. He was chair of the Counseling and Psychological Services Department at Georgia State University much of the time that I was a student there. He provided great encouragement and was very helpful to the students. He gave me many opportunities to teach graduate classes while I completed my terminal degree, and he was always quick with a smile. He had a life well-lived.
