Not sure what to say?

Dick had a life before Princeton, Harvard, and U of P. He has a few friends who remember him from Millersville, Lancaster County, PA, and that he attended McCaskey High School which offered him a more challenging education than Penn Manor H. S. would have. We remember how brilliant he was and knew he would go on to do remarkable work. I just learned of his passing and want to wish his family all the best. You all had a wonderful husband and father! Jean Myers Brenner. Bucks County, PA.

I worked as a researcher and clinician in Dr. Robb's department at Children's Hospital for many years. He was a kind and supportive mentor, with a dignified, authoritative and friendly presence. I send my fondest regards and sympathy to his family. Luisa Mayer

Dr. Richard Robb was my mentor when I did a Pediatric Ophthalmology fellowship at Boston Children's Hospital in 1976. Always kind and respectful, the consummate gentleman, he was a superb diagnostician and surgeon. He will be long remembered and dearly missed. Selma J. Sheridan MD Oswego NY

My Condolences to the Robb Family, The Ophthalmology group and I will truly miss Dr. Richard M .Robb. When I first met Dr. Robb over 26 years ago, he hired me as a Billing Assistant. Dr. Robb was a soft-spoken gentle person; he was open minded to new ideas to improve the billing department. What Dr. Robb has done for the CHB Ophthalmology is great and his spirit will continue to make an impact on CHB Ophthalmology Foundation, Inc. Sincerely, Sanquinetta Gethers

I was fortunate to have been mentored by Dr. Robb when I was at Boston Children's Hospital. I know him to be a very kind and gentle person with deep affection for his patients. I remember his fixation target stick which he held with his mouth to check if his patients had strabismus. When a patient is restless, he whispers in his calm soft voice to talk to the patient who will then suddenly become quiet and cooperative. It is a technique that has been very useful to me in my practice. When I...

For more than 40 years, Dr Richard M. Robb, was my mentor, colleague, and trusted friend. He was a most distinguished physician and surgeon who cared deeply about his family, friends, patients, students, and colleagues in so many ways. He was wise and soft spoken but always most impactful. He trained the next generation of Pediatric Ophthalmologists, rooted them with knowledge and savoir faire, and gave them strong wings to spread the word and improve the eye care of children all around the...

I was Dr.Robb´s assistant for more than a dozen years of ophthalmologic pathology at BCH. He was unfailingly thoughtful, courteous, and dedicated to teaching at all levels from Attendings to rotating Fellows. His humor and enthusiasm were appreciated by all. His decades of work in the Pathology department survive in reports, slides and teaching collections that can still be consulted. Nonetheless he was from retirement, and will continue to be very much missed.

I was Dick´s colleague at Children´s Hospital for many years. He was an outstanding physician and trusted colleague. His dedication to patients was profound and his mentorship was deeply valued. We have lost a consummate professional and I have lost a friend. My deepest sympathy is extended to his family.

My first meeting with Dr. Robb was April28,1963. It was my wedding day and my then husband had popped a champaign cork in his eye! We were staying at the airport to make it easier to catch an early flight to Puerto Rico. We immediately went to MGH and Dr Robb was our physician. My husband of about 6 hours went to be examined and when Dr Robb was through with the exam he came out to get me calling Mrs. Berman...no response! He finally walked up to me and said "You are Mrs Berman now! It was...
