A true and solid friend. Met Dick (never called him Richard) at Franklin High school in Portland. On returning from the beach once approaching the highway long and steep downhill run, Dick won Ted to see how far he could run up the speedometer on his white 1941 Ford. I thought he reached 100 MPH.
