Coach Russ was a great coach at chenango forks, even at the pee wee level.

Coach Russ was the best coach I ever had in football he really was there for the kids and to win he gave me a chance to start and play were I wanted to not just putting you were he wanted and he taught me alot he will be missed by many. Ricky Chesebro

While he was going to college, he
was a good teacher, even then, before he graduated.

To the Russ Family,
Our deepest sympathies on Dicks passing. He coached my oldest son and had a profound influence on his life. Matt had the greatest respect and admiration for Dick as a coach and mentor off the field. I remember when my son was injured on a Saturday and at 7:30 am that Sunday we recieved a call from Dick asking about how Matt was, I looked at the clock and asked Dick if he knew what time it was and he replied he could not wait any longer to find out what the doctor...

Please accept my deepest sympathies. I dont feel that any words I write can begin to explain the impact that coach russ had on my life. He will always be remembered.

My thoughts are with you in this time of sorrow. I have many memories of Mr. Russ from Chenango Forks as so many others do. I remember history class and that we didn't always talk history but there were the football films from the week before. Whether it was history or football, I could see that he had such a passion for what he did. You don't find that in just anyone.
