Richard A. Rust

Mr. & Mrs. Grenier - For many years, I have been trying to locate information about Richard Rust. He pulled me out of that brook 70 years ago. I just found his obituary which mentions his lifesaving actions. I wish i had found him before he died to thank him properly and let him know what great impact he had. The local paper had recently digitized its archives, and the story of my rescue gave me enough clues to find the obituary. I've attached copies of the story, as i though you might enjoy...

My dear husband Cliff felt like Dick was a brother...more than just being Kappa Sig brothers. At this tome of the year they would be discussing hunting, Syracuse football, ROTC, and having the next beer. How fortunate to have him our our life path.

Thank you to Fr. Castronovo, altar boys John-Paul and Mark, organist Ann-Marie Judge, and all the dear family, friends, hunting buddies and former co-workers who attended Dad's Requiem Mass on Wednesday, as well as everyone who has sent cards and otherwise offered words of comfort to us during this difficult time. However, we rejoice in his Eternal Life in Heaven.
