Not sure what to say?

WE think of Dick often and remember the good times we had when we met him and Ann on our Newfoundland trip. Then to find out they lived close by led to more lunch time memories. We miss him, his wit, and stories of times gone by in NJ. He will always hold a special place in the story of our life which he so graciously touched.

We feel very blessed to have been honored to call Dick our friend. From getting on a tour van so very far from home and finding the couple sitting next to us was living just 2 towns away in VA and then learning we came from the very same place in NJ we shared a bond. We had many good times and memories after that . Dick accomplished so much in his lifetime and did so much for so many people. Just to have known him was an honor. We will always remember the night in Newfoundland when we...

Dr. Sacked was a great friend to me when I attended Va. Tech in the mid 70´s. He helped me start a business that allowed me to get through college and gave me great experiences. Not many faculty members would do what he and others did to allow me to get my degree. Thanks Dr. Saacke for your help. Paul Feucht

So sorry to hear this news. Undoubtedly the best teacher I had at VT. The things learned from his classes have stuck with me all these years. He wanted to get to Floyd Store to hear us play music and I offered to get him and take him home just last month and he wasn´t able to arrange it. I will always remember this great man. To you Dr Saacke "Mange Takk".

Dick was such a wonderful gentleman. Perpetually friendly. A terrific role model,

My sincere condolences to a great scientist and colleague! My you rest in peace! Bo Crabo, professor emer., Univ. of Minnesota

It is with deep sadness that I note the passing of Dick. He was a great mentor in my research career. Much of my research was based on what Dick had previously done. Please accept my condolences.

He was a wonderful man and a very accomplished scientist. John F. Hasler

My sincere condolonces to the family. As one of several outstanding professors I had as a student at VT, Dr Saacke was without a doubt the best lecturer and I still easily recall his reproductive explanations. Michael Beahm AnSc '73
