SARGENT, Richard E. - Of Mt. Morris, age 76, died Thursday, October 13, 2005 at McLaren Regional Medical Center. Funeral service will be held at 2PM Monday October 17, 2005 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Pastor Mike Abernathy officiating. Burial in Crestwood Cemetery with a military graveside service under the auspices of VFW Post #822 Honor Guard. Those desiring may make contributions to the Leukemia/ Lymphoma Society. Visitation 2-9PM Sunday at the funeral home. He was born in Flint, Michigan on February 17, 1929. He served in the U.S. Navy and U.S. Army (1st Calvary Division) during the Korean Conflict. He married Faye B. Dickinson on May 28, 1966 in Flint. Mr. Sargent was an avid sports fan. He enjoyed traveling in his sister and brother-in-law's motor home with his family. He enjoyed spending time at his sister and brother-in-law's farm. Mr. Sargent retired from Allen Moving and Storage after 28 years of service. Surviving are wife, Faye; sons, Richard M. and wife Marcia of Flint, Jay and wife Kathryn of Otisville; grandchildren, April and husband David Scrimger of Lapeer, Shanda and husband J.D. Stanfill of Burton, Jay W. Sargent, Joshua Jones, Ricky J. Davis, Joshua Sargent and Jordon Sargent, all of Flint; several step-grandchildren and great-grandchildren; sister, Carolyn and husband David Gibbs of Flushing; brothers, Delbert and wife Martina of Vassar and Donald of Flint; several nieces, nephews, aunts and cousins. Many thanks to 2 special friends, JoAnne Ryon and Lois Jones. He was preceded in death by parents, Everett and Freda.

I was so sorry to hear about the loss of your dad..I know that you will miss him greatly. I had to work both Sunday and Monday so was unable to attend the services. You were definilty in my thoughts and prayers.
