He was fun to be around, a great conversationalist and certainly had a heart for young people. Is was our pleasure to have known him. Certainly he will be missed. I have known Dick since I joined Beaverton Rotary in 1989. When I helped him get to meetings or greeted him he would always say "God bless you." Though we diverged on college sports, we bonded on what's really important: being fellow Army vets and Rotary brothers. I got a kick at of his satire! He is sorely missed. Please know that the Family of Rotary is with you. A donation has been made in Dick's memory to the Beaverton Rotary Foundation.

Dick was one of "my" WWII vets when I worked at MAC - he was one of my favorites - one of the last of a fine group of gentlemen I got to know. He enjoyed attending our Veterans Recognition breakfasts and was always smiling and grateful for time with his old friends at the club. Such a lovely man. I am so sorry for your loss; I feel lucky to have known him.
