My heart goes out to the entire Scanlon family at this very sad time. Not only a huge loss for you, but also for the teachers and students of Wilmington High (past, present & future) and especially for the sports teams Mr Scanlon coached. He was my favorite teacher for sure and even though it seems everyone called him "Dick", he will always be "Mr Scanlon" to me. Being around him was always enjoyable. He was truly gifted in how he related to his students--right at their level. And even...

Thanks Dick, I never had you for a teacher and was always jealous of those who did. I'm sure many WHS soccer alumni appreciate you for making triple sessions a little easier on the soccer field with your humor. My deepest sympathies to the Scanlon family.
