Not sure what to say?

11 long years have past since last you were among your family and friends. You are remembered with love and you are missed every day that passes without you. Dan H. Sr.

The day has arrived when this Guest Book will be closed forever. Too all of my children, I thank each of you for providing some memories of your grandfather Schaefer (Gramps). Too all other family members and friends of Gramps who left their thoughts and memories of him in the Guest Book, I thank you too. His life was taken away from us all too soon! Too Nancy, Maureen, Stacy and Rick, my deepest sympathy in this time of OUR loss. Rest in peace Dad Schaefer..rest in peace. Good night for now...

Before the closing of this Guest Book in a few days, I want to thank all those who left their memories of a man who always tried to do what he could to help others and one who rarely had a bad word to say about others. He helped my family in so many ways and he taught me how to do things I was previously unable to do because I did not have a father as such to teach me. As I said in a previous entry, although not my biological father, to me, he was Dad and to him, I was Son. That's the kind of...

I too have special memories of Gramps and grams at the campsite. We would always try to come up to the "country" atleast 1 time each summer. I remember sleeping in the back of gramps stationwagon when everyone was up visiting or sleeping in the screenhouse cos there was really no other place to sleep unless we squeezed in Uncle Ronnie and Grace's trailer. We would sit around the campfire till late and make smores, pizza pies or just toast marshmellows. We would sit and watch the chipmunks run...

We miss you Gramps, But we know you are in a better place and much happier.
Love Joann Kayla, Brandon

I always thought that my my grandfather was the strongest most independant man in the world who could build or fix ANYTHING. He was invincible and would be around forever. When I was little we always visited my grandparents in Buffalo and would stay out at Bennington Camp. We would look for tadpoles, minnows for fishing, save bottle caps and there would always be a card game going on in the "roundhouse". We would sit for hours in the evenings by the camp fire with all our friends and...

my memories of gramps are going to the country to see him and grama the wild rides in his big boat of a car hitting the bumps just right to get air born then getting the water and ice cream. helping with all the projects he had which if he didn't have one he would find one.the fish fry's and adventures to Canada i will miss you and love you forever gramps. i know i will see you and grandma again so save me a seat ill be along one day.

When I think of Uncle Dick, I think of fun, laughter, hugs and kisses, birthday cakes, holidays and celebrations. He put me on his shoulders and played in the Letchworth pool with us for hours. He remembered us with his funny cards during the year. He was there to say goodbye to my mother and father. He was always there for me while I was growing up. He was my favorite. His health struggle was very long and hard. I hope he is no longer in pain and spiritually with Aunt Jane and Mom and...
