Not sure what to say?

On this very different Thanksgiving Day, we are grateful to be here at the lake your dad loved. He must have known the same comfort this place provides all of Loch Vista especially now. Richard Scheer is kept in our hearts always as a kind and wise founder of our special place. Cheers to your dad and you today.

Happy Birthday Dad !!! I can only hope that you are with me in spirit and know that you are in my thoughts all day!!! Miss You, Love You... Barb

Dad, Couple more days and it will be our "Celebration of Richard's Life" and i just got done doing your picture boards. I just sat for a really long time looking at all the pictures- each picture has a special meaning. I know you are watching over us and you are very proud of the way me, Gary and Les handled everything and you would have gotten a big kick out of all of this. Miss You Love you

It happened!
I opened our 50 year old copy of A.A.Milne's,poetry book, "WHEN WE WERE VERY YOUNG" And there was "Jonathan Jo", Our Richard, personified!

All your wonderful tributes, and my own perceptions truly fit both lovable men. And...He even had "a mouth like an 'O'"!

Any of you may borrow my book, if you will handle it gently!

And Richard, I hear your snide comments about my computer prowess. Doggone it,You're...

We're relative newcomers to Loch Vista. Your dad always took the time to stop his scooter and get to know us. We really loved hearing his lake stories. His kindness meant a lot to all four of us. We wish we could have many more summers to know Dick better. Please accept our sympathy.

It is very hard to adequately express my feeling of deep loss with Dick's passing. He was a true friend to Jo Ann and to me. Dick's sense of humor was acute and often devilish, but ALWAYS appreciated. As I read other entries I am struck, but not surprised, by how many people grew up knowing Dick; first as a child, then as an adult. Their affection toward Dick grew and it is clear that Dick was an integral part of many people's lives. While I didn't know him as a child, he certainly had an...

My deepest condolences go out to Gary, Leslie, Barb, & the entire Scheer family.
Growing up in Loch Vista would not have been the same without Mr. Scheer. He was as good a friend to the kids, as he was to the adults.
Every time I would see him, even in later years, his first comment would be "Where's my gas?" He always had a twinkle in his eye, knowing about the many times that we "borrowed" some gas for an early morning ski run. He was a great guy, and will be sorely missed.
God...

My thoughts are with you Gary, Barbara, and Leslie.

I have many fond memories of Mr. Scheer. As I stare at the computer and try and put my thoughts into words, what keeps coming back is what good friends he and my Dad were.

My brother Steve and I are fortunate to have been able to spend our childhood at such a special place as Loch Vista. I'd like to take a moment to remember the fathers of our friends who passed before Mr. Scheer- my Dad Clint (I remember and miss him every...

Very sorry to hear about the passing of a true Loch Vista legend. Not many left. If indeed they are in the same place, then I'm certain Mr. Sheer has already helped my Dad fix something!!

My heart and prayers go out to Barb, Leslie, Gary, and the rest of the Scheer family.
