When my children Forrest Pecha & Tara PechaThurber went to Highland school they both had Dick as their teacher. During that time my husband Merle & Dick got to know each other cause were both big Cubs fans. I worked at St Elizabeth for 17 years & whenever he came in we would talk Cubs even after Merle passed away. He will be truly missed by so many!!!

We hold you in our thoughts and prayers as you face the days ahead with memories of your husband, dad and grandpa. My brother had Mr. Schmidt as a teacher when he went to Highlands and I didn't have him but he knew our whole family. He was such a good guy and cared about every student that was at Highlands. He was as you say a huge CUBS fan.
