I always looked forward to visiting with Dick. If I were a novelist, he would be the next door neighbor that I would write about as the friend of family offering wisdom and guidance from over the fence or over a cup of coffee. I can still hear him yelling for the dog off the back deck. I will miss exchanging wit and sarcasm and his warm friendship.
