Not sure what to say?

He was a wonderful person. He was one of my best friends at Greenon High School during our junior year. My family moved to Germany for my senior year. I wish I could have known him longer. I always admired his upbeat positive attitude! He is in my thoughts. We have you, Patty, in our thoughts and prayers.

I went to high school with Doc for our junior year at Greenon High School. My father was in the Air Force and he was transferred to Wiesbaden Germany for my senior year. I graduated from Ohio State Vet School in 1969. Neither of us knew the other one was going to become a Veterinarian. We did not meet each other while in VetSchool. When we were in high school I don´t think I can remember one day that I ever saw him anything other than happy, jolly and outgoing. I always loved his personality....

We just found out that our favorite vet in Ohio has died. We now live in Florida. We just lost our Mickey at 17-1/2 years old. Dr. Schumann had a lot to do with our dogs living a long and happy life. Thanks Doc for taking such good care of our dogs. We cannot thank you enough.

We just learned of Doc's passing. We send our deepest sympathy to the family and to all of the staff at Enon Veterinary Clinic. He was our vet since 1988. He was a kind and compassionate caregiver to all of our many pets through the years. We admired him for his entrepreneurship as well. Our whole family remembers him fondly and will miss him.

richard schumann and i were both in the osu veterinary medicine class of 1974. he was a gentleman and a scholar. i remember one particular episode where he amazed dr. leroy johnson in anatomy lab. he had dissected a horse's leg with perfection - the incision in the skin, the muscles, tendons, ligaments, blood vessels and nerves were in laid out perfectly. when dr. johnson passed the dissecting table he said in amazement -
"where did you learn to do that?" another memory of richard...

Dear Patty

My father was assigned to the Wright Patterson Air Force Institute of Technology for one year when I was a rising Junior in high school. So, I was a classmate of Jim's in 1960. My father was transferred to Wiesbaden, Germany in the summer of my Senior year so I graduated from a military dependent high school there in 1969. So, I only spent my Junior year with Jim and our classmates. He was always fun to be around. He was one of the most kind, caring, gentle and...

Dear Patty, Jeff, Ryan, and Family,

I just heard about Dr. Schumann and I don’t know when I’ve been more shocked. Dr. Schumann always was a force of nature and then some, a person so filled with life that this loss seems impossible. While I have no doubt that heaven is a livelier, more interesting place now, and that all the animals Dr. Schumann loved, all of those he saved, and all of those he saved from pain and suffering in their last moments are there to welcome and celebrate...

Doc you will be missed more than you will know. Your kindness and compassion for our dogs will be remembered always. Now you have crossed Rainbow Bridge and will be greeted by all the animals you have helped and will watch over them until their owners finally arrive. Our deepest sympathies to Patty and all of Doc's family. Bless you.
