Not sure what to say?

We did not know Dr. Selzer well but we enjoyed the hospitality of Dr. Selzer and his lovely wife, Janet when visiting the New Haven area years ago. Dr. Selzer made home made bread for our breakfast. We are so sorry to hear of the passing of Dr. Selzer. It didn't take long to see that he was a kind man.

I served in Korea with Dr. Selzer and will always remember his wonderful sense of humor at a time when it wasn't always easy to laugh. I lost touch with him once I got back to Ct. but am delighted to know how much he accomplished both professionally and personally. Rest in peace Lieutenant! With affection. Edward Mitola

just read of his death(while "googling" one of his books)--my condolences to his family & friends. you can take a bit of comfort from the fact that he has influenced myself and a great many other people who have taken up the medical arts and sciences, much less medical writing.

i know of 2 instances in which i have either shared one of his narratives with a colleague or posted a copy of one as a sort of "obituary" for a particular OR room in which i was present when the patient died on...

Dear Aunt Janet, John, Larry, and Gretchen.

Mary and I were so sad to hear of the passing of Uncle Dick.

We are keeping all of you in our prayers through these difficult times.

We will always remember him fondly

Dear Mrs. Selzer,

Dr. Selzer was kind enough to write me in 1980 after Don Falkner gave him one of my articles to read. I was inspired by his letter of gracious and supportive acknowledgment. I took his advise and never did stop writing.

In October of 2009, I wrote him to let him know, all those many years later, the gift his letter continued to be to me and I had clung to his advice and actually finished a book! We exchanged notes a few times during the next year and I...

To our Connecticut family,
Uncle Dick was a beloved figure for all of us. He was a kind, loving, and caring Uncle and will forever be in our hearts.

To Aunt Janet and cousins; John, Larry, and Gretchen we offer our deepest sympathies on your loss. You are in our thoughts and prayers.

Love,
Rebecca and Dave

Sorry to hear of your loss. I remember reading an Ellery Queen magazine and was pleasantly surprised to find a story by Richard.

Dear Janet We went to school together at Hillhouse class of 1950 , a long time ago. Your husband was a great friend of my husband. Sorry to hear of his passing . Love Marlene Pokrob Civitello Take care

So sorry to hear of Dr. Selzer's passing. My memories of him go back many years when I worked as a secretary in the YNHH operating room. I remember once when there were no doctor scrubs available and he simply grabbed a nurse's scrub dress, donned it, and went about his surgical business! He knew how to laugh and make others laugh. I shall always remember him with fondness. My sincere condolences.
