Richard SHAMAN

I’ve been friends with Skip since the mid 60’s when I used to go to hear him play and some times he would sit-in with our band. More recently, we had played together in a trio Skip was starting. I was so very sorry to hear of his passing.
My prayers and sincere sympathy to all of Richard’s family and friends - he will be missed!

Skip and I played off and on for almost 60 years. My first memory of him was at his house around 1964, a ripped apart B3 was spread across the floor like an IKEA project! Rise In Peace my Dear Friend ~

I met Skip at Dayton Band in the early 70's where he repaired amplifiers for my guitar students that broke them. We also played gigs together and did a few recording sessions. He was the drummer on the song I wrote and recorded for my daughter Hannah. He was an incredible piano player as well. (I remember he and Doug Simon used to play Freddie Hubbard tunes.) With me he played rock and roll and country making him a very versatile musician. We met for lunch often. I am going to miss him. ...

I am so sad of his passing. He was one of my best friends for 52 years. We talked almost every week long distance. My life will not be the same without him. Our condolences to his wife Gail and family. Jason & Harriett Hollinger.

I remember visiting my relatives in Dayton on Forest Grove every year.
I delighted in ignoring the Keep Out sign on Skip's door, going in watching
and listening to him playing the drums with adoration. He pretended to be a grouch but he always made me laugh. I will always remember my
