Not sure what to say?

While Rick ANF I were not the best of friends at LJHS, it is always sad to hear of the passing of a fellow Viking, especially when they leave us too soon. On behalf of my wife, Pam, and I please accept our heart felt sympathy at this time. Col Paul Voelker ret. Shelley, ID

Such sad news. I worked with Rick for many years at ACT. Rick is in our thoughts and prayers.

Like Lynn and Hank, I too was shocked to learn of Ricks passing, and my wife (Pam) and I would like to extend our heart felt sympathies to his wife and children.

Rick and I were not good friends at La Jolla high, but in retrospect I can think of nothing in my mind that recalls any interaction with Rick that was anything but positive.

If nothing else, Ricks passing should serve as a reminder to all LJHS grads of 1976 that the time we have left is dwindling and we should...

I'm shocked to hear this news. Rick was my first sweetheart - we were in school together from 3rd grade on and learned to body surf at WindanSea and spent years together. I've been in loose touch with Rick always since - and know that he had a scare a couple of years ago, but when my sister told me today that she saw the obituary, I was just shocked. I'm thinking of sweet Mrs. Sherman and how she took wonderful care of Rick and all his friends. I know Rick was a devoted and proud father...

I, am at a loss for words, really, Though rick and I had lost contact with each other over the years, over, some foolish things, I thought of him often, and the fun he and kathy and I had together! the parties, BBQ'S, the Excitment over the birth of their children, play Ping Pong in the Garage, the spagetti factory, Las Vegas!!! Fishing with Gary, working at C.O.P.S. together, the list just goes on! he had a smile, and a way of talking to you, that could build you up, when you felt like the...

Whether we were sharing a desk in high school Biology class or emailing each other across the country 34 years later, the passing of time and different life paths changed nothing about our friendship. It was enduring, as are the memories of time spent with Rick when we had more of it than we knew what to do with.

Rick loved his family and his friends, and they loved him back. I'll miss his infectious laugh, his teasing and the commitment to friendship that Rick demonstrated...

Kathy, I am So sorry to Hear of Ricks demise! Though we had fallen apart, as friends over foolish things, I often thought of the MANY good times we all shared together! the BBQ's, and Parties, His Infectious Laugh! Fishing with Gary, the excitment over Your children being Born! I'm at A loss for what really to say, except, that my Heart is with you, and your family, God bless you, and Keep you, may he make his face to shine upon you, and may he grant you peace. He Was a Good friend, and I...
