Not sure what to say?

I had the honor of working with Dick during my time as Commissioner of the the Mid American Conference. He was a great leader and and one of the best in the area of Intercollegiate Athletes We need more like him today.

Just learned that Dick passed away. During my time as Commissioner of the MAC, he was the leader of our conference. A great friend but one of the finest gentleman that I ever had the honor to work with. Our sympathy and prayers go out to Carol and the Shrider family. Jim Lessig

My sympathy and condolences to the family and friends of Dick Shrider. Dick was a great boss. His guidance, resourcefulness, and open approach supported my efforts and accomplishments in delivering exceptional services to the Women's Intercollegiate Athletic program at Miami University. I am clearly indebited to such a fine, kind, and caring man. Thank you Dick Shrider.

Dick was my mentor for over 21 years. I couldn't have moved forward as a Division 1 Athletic Director without his guidance and training. Beth & I enjoyed a wonderful friendship with Dick & Carol and family. Miss those mushroom hunting days together for sure! A great personal friend will be missed. Our deepest sympathies to Carol, David, Ann, and families.

We always could count on Dick making the last long shot to win our basketball games when we took the State Basketball
Championship in 1941. Cheerleader Margie REam -Prayers & L0ve to you Carol & Family.

My condolences to all the family and friends of Richard. Especially to my dear friend Carol.

Coach Shrider was a key influence on me while I was a student at Miami. Even in my 70's, I still vividly recall the fond memories of a great coach and person.

Dick and Carol Shrider were very special friends of ours. Lots of great memories of being neighbors, of the M.U. Athletic Dept, of mushroom hunting trips each spring in Michigan and of the Oxford Treasure Hunt. He was a kind and thoughtful gentleman with a ready smile and funny stories. He will be sorely missed and we want to send our sincere condolences to Carol, David, Ann and family. Happy Hunting Richard, you were one of a kind.

When I think of how my alma mater, Miami University, has continued it's' successful pursuit towards excellence, I think of Dick
Shrider. He was always, and all ways, a voice for integrity in athletics, and life. I shall miss him greatly and remember our days in Rotary and how tough a competitor he was, especially in our monthly poker game!
