Not sure what to say?

Thinking of my friend Richard, as each year passes. Remembering you as a very kind, gentle Soul who enjoyed children's books and stories, music, flying kites in the Hamptons, laughter and going to the movies. Sweet memories always in my heart

Richard, my John and I drove down to Washington in his convertible for the big peace demo in Washington in 1969. Richard was a poet and knew it, lived inside a poem most of the time. He had a quiet stillness and could say a lot with his eyes. He and John taught grade school in the `hood for a time back then and John would come home talking about this colleague of his who taught the kids advanced math with cuisenaire rods. I´m glad to see photos and comments from his friends. You´re not...

Richard occupied the next cubby, Perry Ross house, Lower School. Bob Saunders had the cubby next to Richard's, Jonathan Jones was across the hall. We were on the house council so we always had late lights, and some excursions ended up in the kitchen, 3 AM ! Richard kept to himself. I remember no issue with him. He was "matter-of-fact" and maybe out of his element. We were all living in an unusual element. He seemed to be accepting it and doing what he could in a large hall with 30+...

My husband Mark and I want to extend our deepest sympathy to Richard´s family...We have just found out of his passing...He was a nice and caring person and a gentle soul. I have known him a very long time as I was one of his students when I was a kid and we always kept that friendship through out the years. I have many fond memories of our time that we spent together. He will truly be missed. Rest In Peace Mr. Sills.

We have just belatedly learned of Richard's passing. We enjoyed many times together in recent years when he was in Palm Beach, both in local restaurants and our home. We will miss the many dinners and conversations we had with him, many of which were above our level. We extend our sympathy to John and your family on the loss of your brother.

The news of Richard R. Sills passing has brought members of the Daniel Ferro Vocal Program great sadness. Richard was a beloved supporter and dear friend who enjoyed being part of our family of singers and faculty several summers in Greve in Chianti and events in New York. We will miss him greatly. We send our deepest condolences to the Sills family.
