Not sure what to say?

RICKWAS MY BROTHER GROWING UP. WE SHARDE EVERYTHING. LEAVING CALIFORNIA IN 1977 WAS VERY DIFFICULT FOR JUDY AND ME. HARDEST FOR ME WAS LEAVING RICK SIMS. I MISSED HIM MORE THAN ANYTHING ELSR WHILE IN MASSACHUSETTES. WHEN IT CAME TO MY RETIRING, WE WANTED TO RETURN HOME (CALIFORNIA). ONE BIG REASON WAS TO RECONNECT WITH RICK. THE RECONNECTION NEVER HAPPENED. IT IS ONE OF THE BIGGEST DISAPPOINTMENTS OF MY LIFE. RICK WAS AN AVID STUDENT OF LIFE. HE COULD READ A BOOK FASTER THAN ANYONE...

I am so sorry to read this. I was Rick’s Secretary for a few years at TMJB in the 70’s. Working for him was an honor. He was an original. Condolences to Linda, Christopher, and Peter, and to his whole family

Rick and I were insuperable friends during our teens. Everything in the obituary is precisely Rick. Every person in my life that knows that I consider Rick Sims to be amongst my closest friends. Whereas I haven’t seen Rick in many decades I still consider Rick to be one of my dear friends. When I retired I was living in MA. My wife and I moved back to CA after 26 years in MA. One big reason was to find Rick. I never did find him. I looked in Dutch Flat, Belvedere, Auburn, Sacramento,...

Rick was a good soul. I do wish we'd had a chance to reminisce about the days when he provided pro-bono legal defense for me and four others who had been charged with disturbing the peace at San Francisco State in 1969.

I had the great pleasure to meet Judge Sims when he became a Superior court judge in Auburn. He was respected by everyone in the community and the courts. We worked together on many cases and my kids babysat for Gigi and him. I was very honored when he attended my retirement dinner. Judge Sims was a good man in very respect. My deepest condolences to his children and sister Liz & family.
